Title: Commercial Loan Officer

Location: Boston - Downtown

Job Description: The Lending Officer is responsible, individually and in a mentoring capacity, for managing a portfolio of existing commercial and private banking relationships, originating new financing transactions, and cross-selling the Bank’s other products and services.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Credit Quality/Portfolio Management: While maintaining a strong customer focus and customer relations, assesses and monitors a commercial and private banking loan portfolio. Understands, adopts, and adheres to the Bank’s Loan Policy. Provides accurate assessments of credit risk as exhibited by proper risk ratings, comprehensive and accurate credit applications submitted for approval, solid loan recommendations and proposed structures. Understands loan documentation. Maintains comprehensive and current credit files. Monitors risk (delinquencies, overdrafts, etc.). Provides timely information to management regarding potential portfolio issues.

Senior Officer Duties: Actively engaged in a leadership role either internally or externally in the community (chartable and/or business organizations). Proficient with a variety of Bank products and services. Participates in special projects and initiatives as needed. Endeavors to mentor and develop more junior employees

Business Development: Cultivates new lending opportunities that can be developed into strategic relationships. Responsible for annual goals tied to loan volume, fee income generation and cross-sales. Works closely with internal partners to generate internal referrals as well as develops an external network of centers of influence. Involved within the community and supports the Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) initiatives.

Qualifications:

BS/BA required
Formal Credit Training preferred
Minimum of 10 years of direct commercial and/or private banking lending experience
Experience with Moody’s Financial Statement Analyst software or similar financial statement analysis software required
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Excellent quantitative/analytical and oral/written skills
Proficient in multi-tasking in a team oriented environment focused on the highest standards of client service.
