06/10/2009 - Esther Schlorholtz, Senior Vice President & Director of Community Investment, Honored by Lawyers Clearinghouse
Boston, MA— Boston Private Bank & Trust Company is pleased to congratulate one of its own, Esther Schlorholtz, as an honoree of the Lawyers Clearinghouse for the impact that she has made on affordable housing and community development in Boston and the surrounding communities. As a Senior Vice President and Director of Community Investment at Boston Private Bank & Trust Company, Esther oversees community investment. Esther is responsible for developing and implementing residential, small business and commercial community development services for Boston Private Bank. In addition, Esther manages the Bank's CRA investment and charitable donations program, and participates on numerous boards, committees and other community investment efforts.
Since joining Boston Private Bank in 1995, Esther has overseen approximately $600 million in financing for affordable housing, economic development, social service and neighborhood revitalization initiatives. Esther was recently honored at an event held by Lawyers Clearinghouse for her tireless efforts on the issues of affordable housing and community economic development. The Lawyers Clearinghouse provides pro bono legal services to nonprofit organizations promoting affordable housing and community stabilization, groups seeking nonprofit status, and guests of area homeless shelters.
Governor Deval Patrick was the featured guest speaker at the prestigious event and about two hundred people were in attendance to pay tribute to Esther’s role in community development.

During the evening, Law Firm Coordinators from Brown Rudnick; Choate, Hall & Stewart; DLA Piper; Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge; Goulston & Storrs; Mintz Levin; Nixon Peabody; Ropes & Gray; and WilmerHale were also honored for their dedication to the Massachusetts Legal Clinic for the Homeless.
